About The Gourd
Gourd is an annual plant from the cucurbit family. It is also known as vine gourd, as it is a wrapper plant. There are varieties of various shapes and sizes. Usually the stem is narrow, the lower part is fat.
Today, they are used as lampshades, sconces, storage containers, pencil holders, kitchen and office supplies.
It is soaked in water to wipe the bark, rust and mold on the pumpkins. It is cleaned thoroughly by rubbing with a dish wire in water. Then wait for the squash to dry. A pattern is designed and drawn on it. Then, small holes are made over the patterns with a small drill with a fine tip.
Then it’s time to decorate the holes with beads. Beads are glued to the holes and a light bulb is inserted into the pumpkin. Finally, a thin varnish is applied. Apart from this, if desired, the top of the pumpkin can be colored with any water-based paint and varnish can be applied.
